This lecture/discussion offers an intersectional approach to cultivating a strong consent culture within CI spaces by addressing the ways that everyone––but particularly those who come from marginalized populations––has a need for bodily autonomy and freedom of movement. Additionally, in the era of Covid-19 it has become increasingly clear that skills around consent are crucial for relating to others with safety and respect. We will address how the pandemic has impacted our dance spaces and how to communicate about our ever-shifting reality and needs.
