My body permits me, as a human, the closest connection with nature. By strengthening the opportunities for our own physical experience and handling, the project is an invitation to examine whether the burning crisis of the era really responds to how we might think of being new as part of the Earth’s ecosystem. Could we share physical space, side by side, without competing?
Contact improvisation is based on the communication between two moving bodies in physical contact and their combined relationship to the physical laws that govern their movement, i.e. gravity, momentum, inertia. The body, in order to experience these states, learns to release excessive muscle tension and abandon to some extent the quality of willfulness to experience the natural flow of movement. This class will include rolling, falling, turning head over heels, following a physical point of contact, counterbalancing and sharing the body weight with the partner. We will aim towards movable support and gentle flying technique.
