We come to the dance already as a story. Our body’s shape expresses our life experience. It expresses what we practice, what we have been through, our repeated reactions to things in our lives and, of course, our genetic heritage, a lot of minerals and some 39 billion bacteria.
Before we make even one move, all this amazing information is already there for spectators to see and project upon. If we realise and respect the fact that it is there, we can make anything we do on stage more real for us, for our partners, for the audience.
In this workshop, we will respect the molecules we’re made of, our sensations, emotions, inner tensions and structure. We will explore how to discover, touch and express genuine stories in our dance and performance. We will play with physical, spatial and time composition.
We will play. We will experiment. We will grow.
